The Perfect Flight: 5 Tips To Buy Cheap Airline Tickets To India

One of the questions that most concerns us all, and that I have been asked more times when planning a trip to India, is what is the optimal time with which to buy plane tickets (so that they are cheaper)". The truth is that it is not an easy question to answer and many times when I answer "it depends" (which is usually in most cases), the face of total disappointment of who is asking me is a poem.

So, and having stopped to think very carefully about this issue, here are some tips that may or may not work, when trying to buy a plane tickets to India at a good price. We already leave the bargains for the next.

These are the  5 tips to buy a plane ticket 'cheap', by MyTicketsToIndia :

1.      If you trust the statistics, the exact date to get the best price on a plane tickets is 8 weeks in advance. Purists say that the sixth week before the flight date is also a good time. It is not very common in Spain but European, American and Australian friends have bought their tickets up to 1 year in advance. Over the top, yes, but surely at a good price.

2. My experience tells me that the 8-week statistic, at least with me, doesn't always work. Murphy and I don't have a very fluid relationship and he likes to pick me off when it comes to air. Yes, my toast also falls from the butter side, so in addition to statistics, common sense applies.

3. If I think of traveling a short radius, a national flight, I usually buy it 5-4 weeks in advance. And if it is a half radius, eating to look for it with up to 4 months. If we are talking about international flights to Australia, I usually start looking up to 9 months before and it is not uncommon that 6 months before I have already bought it.

4. Search, compare and you will find something better. Kayak, MyTicketsToIndia or Skyscanner are 3 very good search engines that I always consult. Although I advise you that if you are clear about the airline, search directly on their website. Just yesterday it happened to me that after searching in search engines, then I went directly to the web and saved € 100 on air tickets to India.

5. The myth of the 'last minute' bargains in my case does NOT work. It is not in my character either, I need to have everything programmed in advance, and on more than two and three occasions I have paid a lot more than I should for waiting "to see if they lower the price a little." My advice: unless it is an emergency, never expect the last-minute cheap flights; our friends from revenue are very clever.

These are my 5 "tips" when buying cheap tickets to India, but surely you also have your tricks. Can you tell us?
